Lat. name: Thuja gigantea 28-trunk arbor vitae near the Körbl Villa, probably remains of the former Bad Hall cemetery at this location, which was moved around 1850.
Home: North America
The wood, the cones as well as the tips of the branches contain pleasantly smelling essential oils of mono-terpenes, with thujone making up the largest part. The consumption is poisonous.
Tree height up to 40 meters
Use: The wood is very durable and valuable; used in North America for totem poles, for house building and for canoes.
Special feature: only galvanized or copper nails should be used for processing, because iron nails rust because of the acid.
