Shiatsu means "finger pressure" in Japanese.
However, pressure is also applied to certain parts of the body using the balls of the hands, feet, elbows and knees.
In the first half of the 20th century, Far Eastern wisdom teachings and thousands of years of medical experience were combined with theories and techniques of Western origin (physiotherapy, massage, psychology, etc.)
Shiatsu emerged from this encounter as a completely independent form of treatment.
Hara, the lower abdomen, is the supporting centre of the human being from which all movements flow outwards - the universal intelligence.

How the treatment works:

Through meridian stretches and targeted pressing of the meridian points tsubos on a special mat on the floor in a clothed state, the Ki (life energy) is activated, which in turn has a particular effect on the internal organs. Stretches, rotations and body stretches are also used.
