In the year 1855 a "Cur-Musikkapelle" was founded in Bad Hall. Since then, apart from an interruption during the First World War, there have been regular spa concerts. The orchestration was different.
The most famous conductors were the later court opera director Gustav Mahler, who began his career in Bad Hall (1880), and Alois Dostal. Probably the most prominent orchestral musician was Prof. Willi Boskovsky, later concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor of many "New Year's Concerts. Currently the Bad Haller Kurorchester is conducted by Kpm. Dr. Helmut Windischbauer.
Concerts take place several times a week, with the Bad Haller Kurorchester playing the lion's share of the program from May to September. However, there are also concerts by brass bands, big bands, vocal ensembles, jazz and much more.
The spa orchestra performs from May - September on Thursdays and Sundays in good weather in the pavilion and in bad weather in the guest centre in the spa gardens of Bad Hall (subject to change).
