1. notes on operation and accessibility

a) Access keys

To make page navigation easier, we have included access keys for the important page areas on all pages. To avoid conflicts with existing operating system shortcuts, the numeric keys have been assigned here. The following access keys are available:

0 to the homepage
1 to the navigation
2 to the content
3 to the contact
4 to the sitemap
5 to the search
6 to the top of the page
7 to the imprint
8 to the position display

Depending on the browser and operating system, use the above key in combination with a special control key:

  • Internet Explorer: Alt + [key]
  • Firefox: Alt + Shift (Windows and Linux) or Ctrl (Mac) + [key]
  • Google Chrome: Alt (Windows), Ctrl + Opt (Mac) or Alt + Shift (Linux)
  • Opera: Shift + Esc opens a context menu where the available access keys are listed. These are confirmed with Enter

b) Responsive web design

Our website is optimised for a wide range of output devices (mobile phone, tablet, desktop computer) thanks to the responsive web design. The content elements (e.g. images, page layout, size) are automatically optimised for the best possible readability and adapted to the respective display size.

c) Operation with the keyboard

The main menu can be operated using the keyboard (up, down, right and left arrows). The picture gallery (lightbox) can be closed with ESC. For accommodation, catering, tours, sights etc., the tabs and accordions can be opened and closed using Tab and Enter.

d) Tosc5

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, the TOSC5 website widget is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1".WCAG 2.1" or with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03).

2. status of compatibility with the requirements

These websites and mobile applications are partially compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 - AA or the accessibility requirements according to DIN EN 301 549 V2.1.2, edition 2018-08, due to the following incompatibilities / exceptions.

The assessment of the compatibility of the TOSC5 website widget with the BaFG for the implementation of the requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 was carried out in the form of a review in accordance with WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA in May 2025.

This declaration was updated on 3 June 2025.

3 Non- / partially accessible content

The content listed below is not or partially accessible for the following reasons

a) Incompatibility / disproportionate burden

  • PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with the information in another form.
  • The videos used on our websites are currently not barrier-free. The adaptation represents a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations. We endeavour to make the videos accessible as soon as possible.
  • All images should be accessible to screen reader users via alternative texts. If, in exceptional cases, an image is not described with an alternative text and the content is therefore only partially accessible, please let us know.
  • We endeavour to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also refrain from using cumbersome sentence constructions. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with a version that is easy to understand.
  • Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, catering lists, POI lists, offer lists, location and region lists and the report lists are based on structured data from TOURDATA and are currently only partially accessible. If a website user makes a restriction for a list using a filter function, the contents of the results are automatically reloaded (using the AJAX function). This poses a problem for people with visual impairments who use screen readers. Screen readers do not notice any changes to content that has already been read. The improvement of our lists is planned for 2021.
  • Making the PDFs contained in the TOSC5 website widget accessible and creating the accessibility statement in plain language is currently a disproportionate burden. They are therefore an exception.

b) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation

  • Recorded time-based media, such as video and audio media, published before 23 September 2020
  • Interactive maps are currently not accessible. The accessibility of these maps can only be achieved with a disproportionately high effort according to current technical possibilities.
  • Third-party content: Our websites are partly based on the content of a decentralised tourism database. Our content partners are required to provide texts and media in an accessible form. However, no statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.
  • A version in sign language is not mandatory.

c) Other information

  • Spam protection / Recaptcha: We require a so-called "Re-Captcha" function for our contact forms to protect against spam and mass e-mails. This is not barrier-free. If you are unable to use a form due to this function, please send us an email to info@bts-tourismus.at or call our holiday information line on +43 7562 5266 .
  • Media service: We provide media representatives with images for download at www.urlaubsregion-pyhrn-priel.at/bilder, for example. If you have problems downloading images, please contact us. We can then send you the images via other channels.
  • C.9.1.1.1 - For some non-textual content presented to you, there is no equivalent textual alternative that fulfils the same purpose;
  • C.9.1.3.1 - In some cases, information, structure or context conveyed by the presentation of pages cannot be programmatically determined (or is not available via text);
  • C.9.1.3.2 - In some cases, where the order in which content is presented affects its meaning, this is only visual and not structural;
  • C.9.1.4.3 - The visual presentation of text and images containing text does not always have the required minimum contrast ratio, with the exceptions provided for in the regulations (e.g. logos);
  • C.9.1.4.10 - Content that does not require a two-dimensional representation (e.g. data tables or maps) is not rearranged when resized;
  • C.9.2.1.1 - Some features cannot be activated via the keyboard (or a similar input interface);
  • C.9.2.2.2 - Some animations, flashing, sliding or self-updating information are automatically started, have a duration of more than five seconds or are presented in parallel with other content, there are no mechanisms to stop or hide them;
  • C.9.2.4.3 - On some web pages that can be traversed sequentially and where navigation order affects meaning and functionality, some objects that can receive focus do not receive it in an order that preserves their meaning and functionality;
  • C.9.2.4.6 - headers and/or labels do not sufficiently clarify content or functionality;
  • C.9.3.3.2 - In some cases, no labels or instructions are provided when the content requires user input;
  • C.9.4.1.2 - In some cases, the user interface components (including: elements of a form, links and scripted components...), name, role, status, properties and values are incorrect or not set, or the user and their assistive technologies are not notified when these change;
  • C.9.4.1.3 - In some cases, status messages are not presented to the user in a way that assistive technologies can interpret them without shifting focus;

4. queries and suggestions

The Pyhrn-Priel - Bad Hall - Steyr Tourist Board and the National Park Region attach great importance to the ongoing adaptation and optimisation of their websites and mobile applications. If you have any questions regarding the operation of the website or suggestions regarding the content, please send an e-mail to: info@bts-tourismus.at

We will check your enquiry and inform you of the result and the measures taken or planned within 2 months. The offers and services via the TOSC5 website widgets are continuously improved, exchanged and expanded. Usability and accessibility are very important to us.

If you notice any barriers that prevent you from using our TOSC5 website widget - problems that are not described in this statement, deficiencies in terms of compliance with accessibility requirements - please let us know by sending an email to info@bts-tourismus.at. We will review your request and contact you as soon as possible.

5 Enforcement procedure

In the event of unsatisfactory responses from the above contact option, you can lodge a complaint with the Social Ministry Service of the Provincial Office of Upper Austria.

Contact:

The complaints are examined by the Social Ministry Service to determine whether they relate to violations of the provisions of the Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with the accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an organisation attributable to it.

If the complaint is justified, the Social Ministry Service must issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the existing deficiencies.
