Castle Mühlgrub

At Mühlgrub Castle, you will find the "Country Home Style" exhibition and sales rooms (home & garden decor in country house style), the Mühlgrub Castle cultural association, the Mediterranean restaurant Castello, as well as the hairdresser "Rapunzel & Rübezahl."

The multi-towered castle was built around 1600. The original estate "Grub" belonged to the Kremsmünster monastery in 1299. In 1415, it was purchased by the Mühlwagner family, and from then on it was called "Mühlgrub." In 1891, Hans Hager founded a brewery, which was continued by the Fein family. In the 1970s, the largest bottling plant in the world for the "Schartner Bombe" was established. Since 2001, the castle has been accessible to the public through the operation of a sales exhibition for living and garden accessories.
