Lat. name: Pseudotsuga menziesii

Planted in 1903
also known as Douglas fir, Douglas spruce, Douglas pine or Oregon pine after its origin.
Family: Pine family

Use: in Europe, cultivated in forests as a foreign conifer.
The scent of the needles is reminiscent of oranges; the wood contains many essential oils, which is why it was formerly used in folk medicine as a mood enhancer and to promote concentration.
