Also known as "official tree", "bean tree" or "cigar tree" because of the long fruit capsules
Popular park and street tree with a growth height of 15 to 18 metres and a broad, irregular crown. Heart-shaped leaves, white flowers in 10 - 15 cm long, multi-flowered panicles.
Flowering time: June - July.
Fruits: capsules up to 40 cm long, 5 - 7 mm wide; remain on the tree over the winter
All parts are slightly toxic.
Use: wooden and ornamental tree
"Bee pasture": very popular with bees during the flowering season.
