"Occupational therapy supports and accompanies people of all ages whose ability to act is restricted or at risk of being restricted. The aim is to strengthen these people in carrying out activities that are meaningful to them in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure in their personal environment. Specific activities, environmental adaptation and counselling serve to enable people to act in everyday life, participate in society and improve their quality of life." The treatment takes place as individual or group therapy and lasts 30, 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the diagnosis. At the doctor's discretion, the therapy can also be carried out as a home visit or, for example, in retirement homes and nurseries. In addition, an exchange with other specialist areas (e.g. physiotherapy, speech therapy, doctors, medical supply stores, teachers and educators) and relatives can take place on request in order to optimise the holistic therapy.
