Cataracts

The first signs are cloudy vision (like you are "looking through a smoke screen"), sensitivity to light (especially when driving at night), other symptoms include difficulty in appreciating colours and reading.
Glasses can no longer help improve the vision of patients with advanced stage "cataracts" and in this case only an operation can help.
